TAPA Certification Consultancy

TAPA consultancy is available for TAPA certification as well as the security evaluation of any manufacturer or cargo handler. Bureau Veritas Certification provides consultancy through the use of a Gap Analysis. A Gap Analysis is a process where the certification auditor will visit the customer and conduct a certification pre-audit. The Gap Analysis report will inform the customer exactly what needs to be done to successfully achieve TAPA certification. The GAP Analysis process is applicable to FSR. TSR, and PSR certifications.

Third Party Assessments

Independent verification of effective TAPA security systems should be a top priority for the owners of high value products. TAPA certified freight forwarders, cargo handlers, ad certified warehouse facilities have been audited and certified in accordance with current TAPA regulations. Independent verification by the manufacturer’s TAPA auditors or an experienced independent TAPA auditor helps evaluate and validate the security arrangements of handling partners.

The advantage of 3rd party TAPA assessments is that the audits are conducted on behalf of the manufacturers, commonly referred to as Buyers. In this case, the manufacturer is the customer, and the purpose of the audit is to benefit the manufacturer rather than achieve certification of the handling partner. 3rd party TAPA audits should be part of every high value manufacturer’s risk management portfolio.

The application of 3rd party TAPA audits need not only be focused on cargo handling partners. Experienced TAPA auditors may also validate the security arrangements of manufacturers and their distribution centres. Working for the manufacturer’s management, and external TAPA assessment will evaluate the manufacturer’s security in accordance with the most current TAPA requirements and provide insight and guidance to the owners of production facilities.
